
Michelle has an extensive background in premium contemporary knitwear, a knack for fit, and intuitive artistry when it comes to spotting and accurately selecting emerging hot trends, silhouettes and colors. Her SoCal roots inspire a fashion-forward, city-meets-beach design aesthetic that is edgy, feminine and chic. Michelle’s position as Creative Director for newcomer, Cotton Citizen, afforded her the unique opportunity to build a brand entirely from the ground up, ultimately garnering industry attention for its contemporary cutting edge collection, becoming a celebrity favorite and delivering to the likes of Fred Segal, Atrium NYC and Nordstrom. This success led her to her position as Sr. Designer at Bella Dahl, spearheading a new division and selling to Saks Fifth Avenue.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Michelle had her eye on fashion from the very first time she stepped foot in her mom's closet as a kid. Entranced by the incredible assortment of designer clothes and shoes, her sights were set on a future in fashion from the very beginning. After graduating at the top of her class with a degree in Merchandise Product Development from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, Michelle hit the ground running as the assistant to Charles Malka (CEO and founder of Charles David), followed by a position as an assistant knits designer at BCBG. Michelle has worked her way though the industry in a variety of roles at reputable companies, learning every aspect of the business from design and product development to production, establishing an impressive and multifaceted resume.
